Happy Halloween

Since Halloween is a Saturday this year, we had the whole day to celebrate. In the afternoon we went to the San Jose Giants Halloween Party.
Connor and Ryan love the Bernstein Bear books, so they were thrilled to meet Sister Bear...
And Papa Bear...
And Mama Bear...
Brother Bear must have stayed home with his friends, because we never found him.
Gigante, the mascot, was even handing out candy to the little trick or treaters.
There was lots to do with bounce houses, inflatable super slides, batting booths, pitching booths...
Running the bases...They got these masks for completing the hay maze.

Ed even got his picture with Gigante.
And Connor was excited to get his picture taken with a real police officer. Doesn't he look like an official jr. officer.

After the party, it was time to go trick or treating around the neighborhood.

The boys sure did get a lot (too much) candy....
Connor and Ryan enjoyed sorting through all their loot when they were done trick or treating and were perfectly fine with just picking one to eat before bedtime.

Pinecone project

This afternoon Connor and Ryan made pine cone bird feeders using pine cones, peanut butter and birdseed. The peanut butter is natural kind with only peanuts as an ingredients so it is safe for the birds.
First the peanut butter goes on the pine cone so that the bird seed will stick. At first Connor was being very careful, using only one finger touching the peanut butter.

But then it got messier...
Both Ryan and Connor enjoyed licking their fingers to clean off the peanut butter.
Then, the bird seed went over the peanut butter on the pine cone...
Ryan is so careful and precise...
Ryan is showing off the final product hanging from the lemon tree. Now we have to wait and see if the birds or squirrels eat it.

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we went to Spina Farm in San Jose to get pumpkins.
We left the pumpkin patch with four pumpkins to paint.
Connor decided he wanted to paint his pumpkin like Elmo and Connor wanted to paint a white cat. The remaining two mini pumpkins were painted with funny faces.

Ryan got very into his painting.
Connor liked painting the stems best.

We went to Picture People today to get our Halloween pictures done. Ryan is a fireman and Connor is a police man.
