Kauai Day 1 - Exploring the Resort

On Saturday we explored the resort. The hammocks are oh so comfy and have a great view of the beach, if you keep your eyes open.

Between the pool and beach, there is a sandbox with lots of sand toys.
The beach is just a few steps from the pool.



And now it is time to rest again after running around on the beach!
I love the trees that are all around the resort. The just look cool.
We spent the day with Auntie Doreen and she brought boogie boards for the boys! Those are a big hit!
The boogie boards are just about as big as the kids are.

Ed even had fun on the boogie board.
The waterfall gives a really good back massage if you just stand under it.
I can already tell this week is going to go by too fast!

First Airplane Flight

On Good Friday we started our vacation to Kauai with Connor and Ryan's first airplane flight. We left San Jose at 9:48am with a layover in LA before arriving in Kauai. Below is a picture of Ryan, excited while waiting for the plane to take off.

When leaving San Jose, we had to wait on the runway for half an hour because President Obama was leaving LAX and grounded all incoming and outgoing LA air traffic until he left.

Below is a picture of Ryan studying the emergency information. He wanted to know if we could exit on the slide at the back of the plane instead of waiting for all the people in front of us to go out the door. Sounded like a good plan to me! Unfortunately the flight attendants didn't go for it.

Connor's first comment when we arrived in Hawaii was, "look at all those Hawaiian trees!"

We made it to our resort, The Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy.

Let's play ball...

The weather finally cooperated and we got our first T-ball game today (two weeks after the scheduled start date). Ed is coaching the Angels this year. Connor and Ryan had a great time and really enjoy baseball. Below is a picture of Ryan playing first base.

The boys seem to be more attentive this year compared to last year and do better paying attention and watching the ball. Below is Ryan in his "ready stance."

It was a good start to the season.

A BOY!

Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails!

We are excited to be adding another BOY to the family.

We went for an ultrasound on Saturday, but the cord was between the legs, so the tech couldn't tell the gender. We went back tonight to try again. Connor and Ryan got to see their baby brother moving around. Now that we know the gender, we can focus on a name!

Happy 6th Birthday Connor and Ryan!

Connor and Ryan woke up excited this morning because they are now 6 year olds. This picture was taken right after breakfast. After breakfast, the boys got to open the presents from Mom, Dad, Granny and Grandpa. New toys!

The birthday party was held at The Jungle. In this picture, Ryan is being a monkey and climbing the pole.

Connor and Ryan each got their own happy birthday song. This year Ryan got his song first since last year Connor was sung to first.

After the birthday party, we came back home and opened more presents.

It was a fun and busy day. Happy Birthday Connor and Ryan. May the year be an exciting one.

T-Ball Opening Ceremony

Today was the Sunnyvale National League opening ceremony an it was suppose to be Connor and Ryan's first T-Ball game of the season. With the pouring rain today the game and pictures were canceled. They still had the opening ceremonies in the rain.

If Ed wasn't the coach, we would have skipped the opening ceremony. My hands were numb and everyone was wet by the time we left. Brrrrrrrrr. The next game is suppose to be Monday, but the forecast is rain all week, so we will have to wait and see when the Angels get their first game.

Guess who's coming!

We are excited that baby #3 is expected to arrive in September.

Go Green St Patricks Day 5k

Today all four of us ran/walked the Go Green St Patrick's Day 5k in Los Gatos. The race started at 8am, so with the time change, it made it and early morning. When I woke the kids up, Connor asked why he was waking up when it was still night outside.
The weather was nice, in the 50s when we started.

Connor and Ryan enjoyed the sprint then walk then sprint then walk method of running the race, so I chased them letting them set the pace.

The course was scenic. The race took place in Vasona Park, so there were trees, a lake, and ducks.

The finish line is in sight!

We all "won" and got our medals.

Woohoo!

It was a fun morning.

Face Painting

Happy 2nd Birthday to Sydney! Today we went to Sydney's birthday party and had a great time. I was surprised the boys got so excited about the face painter and got both sides of their face painter. Typically they don't like anything on their face.
Ryan got a peace sign on one side and a dolphin on the other.

Connor chose mickey balloons on one side.

And a dolphin on the other.

And... I was a butterfly.

Connor lost another tooth (#3)

Connor lost another tooth today. This is the third tooth Connor lost.

The tooth fairy will be coming tonight. The tooth is already in Connor's tooth pillow in his bed.
