Sunnyvale Health and Safety Fair
At the end of May we went to the Sunnyvale Health and Safety Fair. The kids got to see firetrucks, police cars, ambulances, and a rescue plane as well as lots of booths and giveaways. The highlight was watching the rescue helicopter take off to leave in the afternoon.

Reading
The day has finally come... the kids can read bedtime stories to me :) I love it! They aren't even in kindergarten yet and they are reading, writing, doing addition, and subtraction. They both love math and enjoy quizzing each other on math problems in the car or at the dinner table.
Below is a video of the boys reading to me tonight, but you must view it from the blog website. (http://daneya.blotspot.com/)

Tahoe
Last Wednesday, we drove up to Tahoe to spend a long weekend with Granny and Grandpa at their timeshare. I worked a half day and drove up after lunch. It was a good thing we didn't leave any later, because it snowed all night long. We woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow.
Below is a picture of Granny, Ryan, Connor and Grandpa taken Thursday morning outside the condo. It is snowing!
When I told Connor and Ryan that we were going to Tahoe and it might snow, the first thing they told me they wanted to do was make snow fairies. It was nice that there was fresh snow for it.

Connor is on a mission in this picture. We are off to go sledding. Just down the street is a golf course that had some hills. We walked there to sled.
The kids LOVED sledding down the hill.

Grandpa had fun too!
Later that day, we went a Kids Conservation Festival for Earth Day. The kids got to learn about worms, composting, making electricity with a bicycle, bugs in water, and pollution.
On Friday, it was sunny and a lot of the snow was melted. Connor wanted to touch the water in Lake Tahoe to see how cold it was, so we went to a nearby beach in Incline Village.
It was a "warm" day in the 50s and there were people wearing shorts, tank tops, and in the water. It needs to be warmer than that for me to go swimming in Lake Tahoe! In the below picture Connor and Ryan are "touching" the lake.

Grandpa tried to teach the kids to skip rocks in the water, but they had fun just throwing them in.
After we got back to the condo, we went out for an "Adventure Walk" to find wild animals. We found a fly, bird, squirel, worm and a woodpecker (or "nailpecker" as Connor called it).
On Saturday, we went to Reno to enjoy a bbq and a great time visiting with Aunt Mary, Uncle Len, Cousin Kelly and her kids Carleigh and Jianna, and cousins Dani and Cody. The kids spend all day playing together and by the time we got back to Tahoe, Connor and Ryan were ready to crash.

And then they wanted to make a snowman, but were disappointed we didn't have a carrot for the nose. In the picture you can see Connor is eyeing the snowman. Just moments after this picture was taken, Connor killed the snowman.
We drove home today. We had a great time, but it always go by too fast.

Little League T-ball
Today was opening ceremonies for Little League. Connor and Ryan are on the Blue Jay's team. There is a set of triplets on their team and the triplets are Connor, Ryan and Aidan. It should make it nice and confusing with two Connor's and two Ryan's on the team.
We officially registered for T-ball yesterday. Nothing like waiting until the last minute! This morning we went to Target to get cleats, gloves and balls. We got the uniform from the league before pictures today.
Don't they look cute in their uniform? They are ready to play baseball!

Connor's tooth
Today Connor lost his first tooth, and like his brother, he couldn't just wait until it fell out on it's own. Last Summer, while Connor and Ryan were goofing around, Connor hit his face on the back of Ryan's head. Shortly after, Connor's tooth turned grey and the Dentist told us that it was bruised and to watch the tooth for infection. About a month ago, Connor started complaining that his tooth hurt. So, when the boys had their regular dental appointment this week, the dentist took another xray of Connor's tooth. This time, the xray showed Connor's tooth was obviously cracked at the root and the pain Connor had was most likely an infection, so the tooth had to come out. Below is a picture from this morning before Connor got his tooth pulled.

So much for telling their kindergarten teachers that an easy way to tell them apart is Ryan's missing tooth. We can't make it that easy!
I think the tooth fairy will be visiting our house tonight...
I think Connor did it just so that he could be like his brother. The tooth that Connor had pulled today is the same tooth Ryan had pulled last Summer. I admit, my kids are strange. Connor was excited to go to the dentist this morning to get his tooth pulled. When we got to the dentist, Connor climbed right into the dental chair, and just stared up at TV on the ceiling watching "Cars" while the dentist worked at removing the tooth. The top of the tooth came out fairly easily, but since the tooth was cracked, the dentist had to dig out the root. It hurt me watching it, but Connor was oblivious to it all.
The below picture was taken right after we got home from the dentist. Connor's lip is still fat from the shot to numb it. The bear he is holding is his tooth fairy bear. The necklaces are the prizes he picked at the dentist when he was all done. He picked the black one for himself and the purple for Ryan. The dentist sent the tooth home with a little yellow mouse case.
The tooth...
Connor is so proud of his new hole and happy that the dentist made his tooth feel better.
A matched set. Identical twins, identical holes.

I think the tooth fairy will be visiting our house tonight...
